Midfield ace Michael Essien has promised to give his best shot in the Brazil soccer festival.
The AC Milan man was allowed some grace period to join the Black Stars last Monday in Arnhem, Holland and has already started training with the team.
He said in a Ghanafa.org interview, ‘I am delighted to be back with the Black Stars. I am coming here to give off my best for the country.’
His arrival, together with KP Boateng, Sulley Muntari and goalkeeper Adam Kwarassey completes Kwasi Appiah’s 26-man squad.
Nicknamed ‘The Bull’, the influential midfielder, who would be making his second World Cup appearance, having missed Ghana’s second due to injury is expected to bring his vast experience to bear on the team in Brazil.
He was phenomenal when Ghana hosted the Pharaohs of Egypt in Kumasi, and replicated his effort in the return encounter in Cairo.
The Black Stars would be playing Holland this Saturday in Rotterdam as part of Ghana’s preparations for the World showpiece.
