Elvis Afriyie Ankrah Suspects Sabotage In Ghana’s Failed World Cup Bid

Ex Sports Minister Elvis Afriyie Ankrah suggests he felt at some point he was being sabotaged during Ghana’s participation at the 2014 World Cup.

The entire preparation and organization of Ghana’s failed bid in Brazil – including the airlifting of players, officials and supporters – is being probed by a Presidential Commission of Enquiry.

It has emerged during sittings of the commission so far that certain key systems and mechanisms put in place to ensure Ghana’s successful participation at the World Cup failed.

The former Minister of Sports Elvis Afriyie Ankrah taking his turn with the commission to prove he didn’t neglect his duties during the systemic failure suggests he felt at some point he was being sabotaged but says detailed observations of his suspicion will be given to the commission in-camera.

“There are some aspects of this whole drama that does not make sense but we will talk in chambers,” he told the commission on Monday.
