Egyptian Club To Report Swiss Side Young Boys To Fifa Over Affum Signing

Egyptian side Smouha are set to report Swiss side Young Boys to FIFA to challenge the latter’s signing of Ghanaian striker Samuel Affum.
The 22-year-old signed a three and a half year contract with the Swiss giants last week after passing a mandatory club medical for an undisclosed fee.
The ex Hearts of Oak player had canceled his contract with Smouha over the suspension of the Egyptian top flight.
The Egyptian club however claim Affum’s basis for terminating a contract with them in order to join Young Boys was illegal and thus makes his now signed deal with the Swiss club void.
“We will complain Young Boys to FIFA. Affum has no right to terminate his contract for several reasons,” Smouha vice-chairman Ismail Fayed told FilGoal.com.
“First, as far as FIFA is concerned, Egyptian football is not suspended as the season should kickoff in a month.
“According to FIFA rules, a player is only allowed to terminate his contract if his participation in competitive games is less than 10%, while Affum has featured in most of our games last term.
“Moreover, Affum has been paid regularly until his last day with the club.”
Affum who was linked to joining Al Ahly before joining Young Boys is yet to make his debut in Switzerland.
