Egypt: Thousands of Pro-Mursi Demonstrate in Cairo, Giza
Thousands of demonstrators supporting former President Mohamed Mursi took part in marches across Cairo and Giza on Friday in response to a call from the pro-Mursi National Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy.
After the Friday noon prayers, groups of demonstrators marched from several mosques to demand Mursi’s return to power.
The demonstrators marched from mosques in Helwan, Maadi, Nasr City, Giza and 6th of October areas, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported.
A pro-Mursi youth group called “Ultras Nahdawi” marched from Mahrousa Mosque in Cairo’s Mohandessin.
Scores of Muslim Brotherhood supporters caused traffic to come to a halt in Cairo’s Salah Salem Road at al-Rahman al-Rahim Mosque.
