The Egyptian team will be bringing along their own food and water during their stay in Ghana for the 2014 World Cup playoff.
The Pharaohs will be arriving in Ghana with a large contingent and heavy consignments of personal effects ahead of the game on October 15 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
The North African are leaving nothing to chance ahead of the crunch game against the Black Stars as they look to clinch their first World Cup qualification since 1990.
The Egyptian FA have thus requested for adequate foodstuff, water and other items for personal use which will last the entire duration of their stay in Ghana.
“The Egyptians are not taking this match lightly at all; they are coming with full force,” Ghana’s Ambassador to Egypt H.E Alhaji Said Sinare told GHANAsoccernet.com.
“Even my understanding is that they are not going to eat any of our foods while here. Not even in their hotel.
“They are bringing their own chef, food, drinks. It shows how prepared they are, they don’t want to leave anything to chance.”
Egypt’s unique way of preparation towards national assignments has drawn several admirers.
And the Ghanaian ambassador wants Ghana to adopt a similar or even better approach towards the second leg match in Cairo on November 19.
“We should also do the same, we should also prepare ourselves morally and everything to make sure that look, this win in Ghana is a must, the win in Cairo is too is also a must. We should win both games,” Alhaji Sinare adds.
“It is important for us. We should win both games. It is like going to a war.
“If you don’t prepare well definitely you will be defeated. But once you prepare yourself well, you have your generals and lieutenants well prepared, definitely you will succeed.”
