Effah-Dartey Launches Campaign For NPP Scribe
Captain Nkrabeah Effah-Dartey (Rtd), aspiring General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has predicted a one-touch victory for the party in the 2016 general elections if given the nod.
He believes the party requires a new general secretary, who would be in the engine room to help the NPP win the 2016 elections.
Ushered to the podium in the midst of his favourite gospel song, ‘Ma Twen Awurade Anim’ at the launch of his bid to become the next General Secretary of the party in Accra yesterday, the former MP for Brekum assured the teeming supporters of the party that the fortunes of the party would improve in the next elections under his leadership.
‘When you look at our track-record in office, there was no conceivable reason why our party lost election 2008, but very painfully we saw power slip through our hands with less than 40,000 votes due to the lack of alertness.’
‘We entered into election 2012 fully confident that we were going to win, alas when the results came finally, we were declared losers and again for the lack of alertness,’ Capt. Retired Effah-Dartey said.
‘We need a brand new crop of militant leaders, not to shoot guns but ready and capable to carry us through the next phase of our struggle to win power for the NPP.
While praising his predecessors for a good work done, the former Deputy Minister of Interior in the previous Kufour administration stated that ‘under God and using the mantra of ‘alert and win,’ I promise to do the same and steer the party to victory in 2016.
‘I have been well nurtured by the Almighty God to be in pole position to serve the NPP at this critical moment as the General Secretary, he indicated.
He is seeking to unseat Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, the current General Secretary of the NPP.
