The singer and songwriter who is often referred to as DSP Kofi Sarpong, will once again prove to Ghanaian music fans why he is still reigning as one of the best gospel music stars in Ghana today.

The gospel music maestro is billed to stage a musical concert dubbed ‘Kofi One On One Concert’ at the Accra International Conference Centre in June this year.

The concert, being organised by Media Excel, is to celebrate DSP Sarpong’s achievement in the music industry and also raise funds to support his foundation.

The event, which will perhaps be the biggest organised in the country, is expected to attract hundreds of personalities. It will also bring together families, corporate institutions, individuals and lovers of gospel music to celebrate genuine Ghanaian gospel music.

Some selected gospel musicians are expected to perform alongside the gospel maestro.

According to Kofi Sarpong’s management, the gospel artiste, who is working tirelessly to keep the flames of the genre burning, promised to not only light up the night with special stage performances, but also make the night sparkle with other stars on the bill.

The gospel music icon is seen as an inspiration and has indeed proven beyond all reasonable doubt to numerous gospel music fans that he really has come to stay.

In a chat, Kofi Sarpong’s manager, Ernest Kwasi Ennin told BEATWAVES that it has always been Kofi’s dream to promote Christ through music.

Kwasi Ernest said the concert was in response to the demand from Kofi’s numerous fans who witnessed his stage performances last year.

According to Kwasi Ennin, who is also the chief executive officer of Media Excel Productions, all the songs on Kofi’s albums are praise and worship songs with danceable beats that make the album a rich one.
