Daily Guide Mourns With Abban Family
Their visit formed part of activities marking a week’s celebration of his death.
The delegation was led by the former First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Freddy Blay.
Mr Blay in his message expressed shocked over the death of the circulation officer and therefore promised the company’s support to give the deceased a fitting burial.
He donated an amount of GH¢400.00 to the bereaved family.
The Head of Akona Ebusua at Kotokuraba in Cape Coast, Yaw Quinoo who received the money on behalf of the family thanked the company for the gesture.
It would be recalled that DAILY GUIDE in its October 7, 2013 published a story with the headline ‘Accident kills Daily Guide Staff’ where the Regional Circulation Officer met his untimely death at Gomoa Potsin in the Gomoa East District when his car, Opel Astra with Registration number, GE 6370-Z and an Ivory Coast bus with registration number, 7558FN01collided, resulting in his premature death.
The body which was deposited at the Winneba Government Hospital Morgue for autopsy had been transferred to the University Hospital Morgue in Cape Coast.
His driver, Joseph Mensah aka Nana Kwame who was injured, is on admission at the Winneba Hospital.
The driver of the bus, Kakou Allou FranÃ§ois had been granted bail by the Winneba Police Command is expected to report to the police whenever he is needed.
The deceased car was from Cape Coast heading towards Accra, while the bus was loaded with passengers from Benin to Ivory Coast when the incident happened.
The deceased left behind a wife and two children.
