Congo’s Women’s U17 Team Yet To Arrive For World Cup Qualifier Against Ghana

Congo Brazzaville’s U17 women’s team have failed to arrive for their World Cup qualifier against Ghana on Sunday.
The team was expected to arrive in Accra on Thursday evening to finalize their preparations for the first leg match in the qualifying series.
This puts Sunday’s game at the Accra Sports Stadium in great doubt as the Congolese have written to CAF seeking a postponement.
“They have written to CAF seeking to postpone the match and we were copied in this letter,” Black Maidens management committee chairman Augustine Asante told Metr941.com.
“They were supposed to arrive today (Thursday) but with this letter we now don’t know whether they will even turn up for the game even though CAF is yet to approve their request.
“We can only remain focus on our preparations towards the game and wait to see what CAF says about this.”
Ghana is chasing a second successive World Cup appearance following their impressive third-place finish last term.
The match on Sunday was to be the first leg game in just the first round of the qualifying series for next year’s World Cup to be staged in Costa Rica.
