Chancellor Lauds Zoomlion
According to the Professor in Waste Water Treatment and Sanitary Engineering, Zoomlion had contributed so much to improving general sanitation at the University and Sunyani in general.
Prof (Mrs) Awuah made these remarks over the weekend during a send-off party for the out-going Brong Ahafo Regional Manager of Zoomlion, Kofi Sekyere Boateng, in Sunyani.
The UENR VC, who is also a board member of Zoomlion, paid glowing tribute to Sekyere Boateng for the assiduous manner in which he had worked to make the Brong Ahafo Regional operations of Zoomlion, one of the best performing regions in the country.
‘Mr Sekyere Boateng’s sterling performance and diligence had pushed him higher to the Ashanti Region where he is going to head,’ the Prof added, while advising him to continue to work harder with humility to be able to overcome the challenges ahead of him in the Ashanti Region.
Prof (Mrs) Awuah entreated the staff of Zoomlion to exhibit a high sense of diligence and commitment to their work to ensure a clean Ghana. She bemoaned the attitude of Ghanaians towards work; something she stated leaves much to be desired. She also admonished them to eschew laziness, bribery and corruption, nepotism in the system so that Ghana would be a better place for all.
Gyamfi Ameyaw, Sunyani Municipal Coordinating Director, commended Zoomlion for teeming up with the Assembly to manage waste and sanitation in the regional capital.
According to Mr Ameyaw, Sunyani had been acclaimed the cleanest city in Ghana due largely to the manner in which the out-going regional manager of Zoomlion and his team had worked hand-in-hand with the Assembly to improve waste and sanitation in the municipality.
Mr Ameyaw noted many people across the country now want to settle in Sunyani as a result of the proper waste management and transport system in the city.
Mr Kofi Sekyere Boateng thanked the staff of Zoomlion for the love and support given to his administration which made the Brong Ahafo Region one of the best in the operation of the company.
He advised the staff to give the in-coming regional manager the needed support for the company to improve on the standards it had built in the region.
He commended DAILY GUIDE, Sky FM and Ark FM for helping the company in diverse ways to build a positive image in the region.
As part of the ceremony, staff and management of Zoomlion presented various packages to Mr Sekyere Boateng.
