Brazil: Scolari risks up to 17 years in prison in case of conviction

Luis Felipe Scolari involved in a case of tax fraud? The case may be more serious than he would think after responding Tuesday to the suspicions against him.

Indeed, the General Department of the Brazilian republic confirmed Wednesday it had received a request for assistance from the Portuguese authorities to carry out investigations in the case of alleged fraud by the Portuguese coach.

The coach of the national team is believed to have attempted to bypass the Portuguese tax by not declaring a 7 million Euros whopping during the period 2003-2008 while Felipão led the Portuguese team.

Enterprises located in the Bahamas and other exotic countries have been used to facilitate the operation. Scolari thus risk up to 17 years in prison.
