It was the fastest goal of the World Cup so far and it was celebrated with the best dance routine, yet.
In the 5th the right hand side and played the clever pass to left-back Armero. His shot was deflected but rolled past the Greece goalkeeper, scoring the first goal for Columbia at the World Cup.
The goal scorer hastily ran to the bench and showed off his little dance with his teammates (see video). A fantastic celebration.
For Greece, the whole situation was especially hard: An early goal against and then this kind of joyous celebration – pretty annoying. In the remainder of the game Greece had their chances but didn’t manage to score even when striker Theofanis Gekas was all alone with the ball in front of the goal.
In the end, Columbia won 3-0 after further goals by Gutierrez and Rodriguez. The big question now is: Will there be more dances like that in Columbia’s second World Cup game against Cote d’Ivoire? We’ll know more on Wednesday.
