Atlantic Trust Holdings Fights For Rights Of Children

Two multi-national organizations, Atlantic Trust Holdings Limited and African Rights Initiative International (ARII) have entered into partnership agreement to promote human dignity and sustainable livelihood in Africa and beyond.
Speaking at the function on Tuesday 1 st October, 2013, the chairman of Atlantic Trust Holding Limited, Mr. Alex Asiedu said his passion is to see society developed and his Group’s core values of ensuring the well-being of all citizens, especially children, is in line with African Rights Initiative International’s core-mandate of promoting human dignity and sustainable livelihood.
He said children are the future of humanity and so his Group shall continue to partner the organization, especially in their relentless efforts to end child poverty in Africa.
Atlantic Trust Holding Limited is an investment holding company based in Ghana, Dubai and Hong Kong, with wide ranging operations in Steel Manufacturing, Oil Palm Plantations, Business Development between Asia and Africa, Real Estate Development, Property Management, Warehousing, Energy Services, Mining, Refinery, Tank Farm Development, Electronic Products, Commodities Trading, Equipment Hiring and Haulage Services, Banking, Charity Services, Music Artists Management and Production to the Hospitality Industry.
Established in March, 2007, African Rights Initiative International became a fully registered charity on 5 th November, 2007 and is more committed to reducing the number of deaths of children due to poverty.
Recent report from the International Labour Organization (ILO) indicates that Sub-Saharan Africa is the region with the highest incidence of child labour, despite a decline in the incidence from 25.3 per cent in 2008 to 21.4 per cent in 2012.
Under the partnership agreement, Atlantic Trust Holding will provide ARII with monthly support for key officials, office accommodation sponsorship for its annual African humanitarian fundraiser.
Other areas the package will cover include total emancipation, technical support and unquantifiable assistance aimed at strengthening the organization to achieve it established aim.
A case for reference is little Emmanuel Kwaku Damaa, 6, from Uro, in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba district of the northern region who is suffering from cancer that has affected his mouth and needs urgent medical attention.
ARII made provisions for his medical needs at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital where on Thursday 15 th August 2013, he commenced treatment and today he looks improved.
In his remark, the Executive Director of African Rights Initiative International, Mr. Prince Oduro Williams, expressed his organization’s deepest appreciation to Atlantic Trust Holding Limited for their enormous support in fueling the organization’s humanitarian works in Africa.
He said ‘As I travel across the regions of our dear nation, I have come to realize that it doesn’t take much to change the world. A little love, affection and a little more smile can rebuild the ruins of our society.
Supports like that of Atlantic Trust Holding Limited help ARII to respond to children on time in emergencies and to secure the basic rights of the African child to life, survival and security.
