Asere Stool gets new Asafoatse
The Asere Mantse, Nii Amarkai, has appealed to Ghanaians to maintain peace and order for the rapid development of the country. He explained that the peace prevailing in the country, if sustained, would attract investors into the country, especially to the Greater Accra region, which serves as the gateway to the sub-Region.
Nii Amarkai, who is also the Chairman of the Asere Divisional Council, made the appeal at the swearing-in of Asafoeatse Adama II into the Asere Divisional Council to succeed Asafoatse Adama I, who passed away more than 13 years ago.
Asafoatse Adama II is representing the Tagoe Family of Agbon Frimpong We in the Asere Divisional Council, which is charged with the responsibility of managing the Asere family stool lands.
Nii Amarkai said the coming together of the Asere Divisional Council to search for a successor to the late Asafoeatse Adama I was a testimony to the peace prevailing within the Asere family.
He, therefore, commended Asafoatse Adama II as a unifier of the Asere stool which had had its worst controversies for the past 40 years with some families leaving the Asere Division.
He explained that all the controversies had been resolved and the Asere Stool could now boast having everybody back into its fold.
Swearing the oath of allegience to the Asere Mantse and Nii Korkwei III shippi/ head of Asere ‘Asafoatsemei’, Asafoatse Adama, assured the chiefs and people under the Asere stool that he was ever prepared to respond to their call with respect for the development of the country.
The swearing-in ceremony was characterised by pomp and circumstance.
Traditional rulers who graced the occasion included Nii Owula Kpakpa Blofonyo II, Ga Akwarshong, Nii Quao Donkor II, Asere Tsono Mantse; Nii Korteyboi II, Ofankor Mantse; Nuumo Blafo II, Ga Blafo Wulomo, and the Accra Metropolitan Assembly Public Relations Officer; Nii Ayi Abuma II, Ayawaso Dzasetse; Nii Aflah Kwei Stool Wulomo of Asere and Nii Adama I, Odorkor Official Town Mantse.
