Another Maputo Disaster looms: Ghana’s day of shame in Botswana as team plays with T-shirts

Team Ghana was the butt of jokes at the first day of the Africa Youth Championships in Botswana when it showed up for it’s badminton match wearing T-shirts with Ghana written in felt pen.

Ghana lost the match 5-0.
Allsports.com.gh investigations revealed that the team’s official kits had not arrived in Gaborone at the start of the event after a mix up with travelling arrangements by the National Sports Authority.

Team Ghana, made up of 21 athletes and ten officials, is competing in six sporting disciplines including, athletics, weightlifting, badminton, swimming, table tennis and cycling.

Allsports.com.gh also understands from sources that the team as at Thursday had not received an imprest with which to take care of the young athletes representing Ghana.

Allpsorts.com.gh attempts to get a response from the National Sports Authority has proved futile.

What is your opinion of this situation?
