English giants Liverpool are interested in signing Ghana midfielder Andre Dede Ayew.
The 24-year-old has just 12 months left to run on his contract with Marseille , but he has been linked with a move away for some time, with English duo Newcastle and Manchester United among the other clubs linked with him.
Ayew has attracted interest from Italian club Napoli too, with Rafael Bernitez’s side offering €10m for his services.
But Liverpool will have been given encouragement to make a move for the Ghana International following his comments last month.
“The Premier League is a league every player dreams about,” Ayew said.
“The English league is the one most followed in Ghana. It’s true that I have a real preference for England.
“I like everything about it; the atmosphere, the game, the fans. There is a lot of intensity. It is a beautiful championship.”
Ayew is part of Ghana’s squad for the 2014 World Cup.
