Ghana steamroller Andre Ayew underlined his sensation form in the French Ligue 1 by scoring the opening goal for Olympique Marseille in their 2-1 home reverse to ten-man PSG on Sunday.
The 23-year-old handed the lead to Elie Baup’s men when he stepped up to send wonderfully executed penalty kick home to beat Salvatore Sirigu in the 33rd minute.
Marseille’s early pressure, orchestrated by Andre Ayew with his junior brother Jordan Ayew in attack, the visitors were brought under a lot of pressure at the Stade Velodrome. And it paid off when Thiago Motta brought down Matheu Valbuena inside the box.
The offends attracted a straight red card for Motta but Marseille failed to take advantage of their numerical superiority as they PSG fought back to win the tie 2-1.
Jordan Ayew was replaced in the 66th minute while Andre lasted the entire duration of the game.
