Amansie West Assembly Gets New DCE
The Amansie West District Assembly, last Friday, endorsed Mr. Alex Kwame Bonsu as the new District Chief Executive for the District.
Seventy-one (97.2%) out of 73 assembly members present voted to approve the President’s nominee as District Chief Executive.
Mr. Bonsu, a former parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), thanked the members for the confidence reposed in him, and pledged to work tirelessly with them and the members of Parliament to develop the district.
The election was supervised by the Electoral Commission (EC), which was represented by Mr. Lawrence Sarpong, Deputy Regional Electoral Officer.
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr. Eric Opoku, commended assembly members for endorsing the President’s nominee, devoid of partisanship, and urged them to work hard for the development of the district.
The Omanhene of the Manso-Nkwanta Traditional area, Nana Bi-Kusi Appiah II, who gave audience to the Regional Minister at his palace, thanked the government for nominating Mr. Alex Bonsu.
The Chief advised the DEC to adopt an open-door policy, and distribute development projects evenly throughout the district.
The Omanhene appealed the government to rehabilitate the poor road network in the district to facilitate movement of goods to the urban areas.
