Alan Kyerematen will not vote in Sunday’s Super Delegates Conference

Flagbearer aspirant, Alan Kyerematen will not vote at Sunday’s Super Delegates Congress by the New Patriotic Party (NPP), his spokesperson has said.

Some 787 delegates of the NPP are voting in Sunday’s polls at 11 polling centres in the ten regions of the country to select five candidates who will then vie for the party’s flagbearership slot.

Seven candidates, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, Stephen Asamoah-Boateng, Francis Addai-Nimoh, Kofi Osei Ameyaw, Alan Kyerematen, Nana Akufo-Addo, and Joe Ghartey are hoping to make it to the top five after Sunday’s voting.

Joy News’ Francisca Kakra Forson, who is with the Alan Kyerematen camp, reported that he will not be voting in the election.

According to her, Mr Kyerematen, will not be voting because he is not a delegate and is currently in his office.

Nana Ohene Ntow, spokesperson for Mr Kyeremten, explained that the delegates will decide his fate by 3pm Sunday.

Meanwhile Mr Kyerematen’s closest rival Nana Addo voted Sunday at the party’s headquarters in Accra.

About 130,000 delegates will be voting on October 18 to select a flagbearer to lead the party at the 2016 general elections.

Despite not voting, the former Trade Minister’s team believes he will certainly be amongst the five that will move on to the October 18 poll. Story by Ghana | Myjoyonline.com | Ernest Dela Aglanu (Twitter: @delaXdela / Instagram: citizendela)
