Aboabogyahene pledges development
The Aboabogyahene, Nana Okogyeasuo Kwadwan, has sworn an oath to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, pledging development and renewal of culture in the Aboabogya area in the Afigya Kwabre District.
At the swearing-in ceremony at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, the Asantehene asked the chief to be submissive to the golden stool through his service and also accord the same respect to his subjects.
He asked him to conduct himself in a way that his reign would become an encouragement and a good source of reference for the future generation.
He advised family members who were opposed to the enstoolment of the chief to do their homework well.
Nana Kwadwan expressed gratitude to the Asantehene for the honour done him and gave an assurance that he would stand for the progress of his people.
He said he had already initiated a scholarship and other youth development programmes to improve the living conditions of the people.
Nana Kwadwan is a Canada-based businessman and road contractor.
