The ninth Breakfast With Papa [BWP] , the youth empowerment initiative has been held at the Cahaya Lounge in Accra under the topic’’ overcoming our Dream Killers’’.
The topic according to the host and architect of the program, Mr. Paapa, was chosen because a lot of times, potential entrepreneurs of business personnel try to build a concept or a dream but are often discouraged others .
Mr. Edmund K. Asamoah, Finance and Administration Manager of the A & C Development Company Limited, admitted the existence of dream killers whose aims are always to shatter the optimistic dreams of potential persons.
He however pointed out that, dream killers have added values as they motivate one to go the extra mile to prove his or her critics wrong and that the comment of dream killers cannot be ignored since their sayings have both its wrong and correct aspects.
He bemoaned the Ghanaian business environment which according to him, as an emerging market makes it harder for businesses to thrive and does not also encourages start ups for new businesses.
He is hopeful that the success stories of their lives as entrepreneurs and pioneers would spur others to follow their steps .
Mr. Asamoah, who has stayed abroad for several years is among the pioneers of the A& C Mall in Accra said he was motivated to come back home because he wants to be part of those who have solutions to challenges bedeviling the African continent and to also contribute his quota to the socio-economic development of mother Ghana .
He therefore encouraged Africans both abroad and within the continent to always have the optimism and muster the courage to fix our own problems rather than remaining in the Whiteman’s land and enjoying someone’s privileges’.
On his part, Mr. Richard Amoo of the Amoo Group of Companies, said for one to be able to succeed as an entrepreneur or business person, one must be passionate, hardworking, courageous, optimistic and must have a confident business model.
