A town hall meeting with Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia organised by Joy News is promising to be a great event.

All is set, the venue is ready, security is in place and Joy News’ experienced show hosts are on standby to bring you the historic show.

Joy FM’s Super Morning Show host Kojo Yankson and head of Joy News’ Political Desk, Evans Mensah will be hosting the event.

Dr. Mahamudu is expected to make a brief presentation after which he will take questions from journalists and ordinary citizens.

Today, April 17, 2017 is exactly 100 days since President Nana Akufo-Addo and his vice were sworn into office after winning the 2016 presidential election.

A lot has happened since.

The president has appointed the largest government of 110 ministers in Ghana’s history.

Groups aligned with the president’s party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), have engaged in acts of lawlessness and fallen foul of the law.

The government presented a budget which was hailed as progressive. On the back of that, the local currency, the cedi, has strengthened against the US dollar and inflation is on the decrease.

Dr. Bawumia is expected to speak to some of these and provide insights into the direction of government as far as its big promises are concerned.

The NPP promised one-district, one factory, a million dollars per constituency, one-village, one-dam in the northern parts of the country and a robust economy.

The Vice-President will certainly be asked questions about how the government intends to fulfill its many promises.
