Gospel Musicians Ohemaa Mercy and Superintendent Kofi Sarpong want Christians to focus on a solemn remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice to mankind instead of the secular celebrations.

They tell Joy News that some Christians have lost the relevance of the Easter celebration.

According to them, other secular activities have overshadowed the essence of the death and resurrection of Christ.

They want Christians to focus on the solemn remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice for mankind.

“It is time to share and love each other because that is what he stands for. He came and sacrificed himself for us and didn’t consider his kingship.

“The alpha and Omega left everything to come and die for us, but we have lost the essence of all that. It is time to go back to what Easter stands for,” Sup. Sarpong said.

Ohemaa Mercy said, “now we are not seeing it [the essence of the season] The significance is lost on us and most of us are not going out for evangelism. And that is why the devil has taken advantage of our youth to be going into all sorts of lifestyles.”

She said for those who believe in and know the essence and reason for the season, they are living it and that must reflect on the others.
