Some girlfriends and family members of suspected robbers arrested by the Eastern Regional Police command broke down in tears Wednesday when the Koforidua Circuit Court ‘A’ remanded them.

The relatives and girlfriends were in court hoping the judge Mrs. Janet Anim Marfo will grant the alleged brigands bail, but left disappointed.

The case has been adjourned to February 22, 2017.

The three accused persons who made appearance in Court were Daniel Bekoe, 29, computer technician, Divine Modzaka, 27, a phone repairer and Edward Nketia, 20, driver. The fourth accused, Richard Obeng, is, however, at large.

They were charged with three counts of conspiracy to commit crime, robbery and dishonestly receiving.

Presenting the facts of the case, Chief Inspector Bernard Annor explained that residents of Effiduase and its environs have been experiencing robbery cases recently. He said on February 11, 2017 at about 1:30am, three masked armed men broke into the complainants room located at Asokorekuma, attacked and robbed them of their belongings.

The stolen items, he said, include laptops and other home appliances valued at Ghc11, 700.
