One of the conundrums Ghanaian musicians face from music critics is the strict moralities attached to songs’ lyrical contents when they are being analysed.

This could result in a serious backlash or a huge success.

Da Lettle, a fast rising Hiplife musician and the C.E.O of In Your Face Entertainment, is currently in the ‘cage’ of Ghanaian critics over his latest controversial Hiplife/Afro-pop track titled “Yekoseimu”.

Upon realising the fairly hit single in early January, critics took their time as usual to decode some of the controversial verses and immediately labelled it as a ‘dirty song’.

Even while on an Accra-based radio for an interview, fans called Da Lettle to bluntly state that the song is not fit for the Ghanaian society.

But, Da Lettle won’t allow critics to ruin his record thus, he has come out to retaliate and also make clear the concept of the song to the populace.

“My song ‘Yekoseimu’ means let’s party. It has nothing to do with immoralities neither will it make any negative impact on the Ghanaian society.

“The main concept of the song is about hanging out or chilling with friends, especially on weekends. You know there’s a lot of pressure in the system and Ghanaians need something to boost their morale so I made this for them.

“It’s just club or party banger for everyone. So people should groove to it and forget about the negative reviews from critics,” Da Lettle divulged.

He added that fans should enjoy the tune and forget about the negative critics. “I want my fans to have fun with ‘Yekoseimu’. It’s a tune that cuts across. It’s for both young and old so every Ghanaian who loves Afro-pop and Hiplife should enjoy.”

“Yekoseimu” is a fast-tempo Highlife and Afrobeats jam produced by Jake On De Beat.
