Our eyes say it all, do they? Yes, they do. Just like our other organs giving out symptoms whether or not our health is working fine, our eyes forewarn us of health issues too. The eyes give one a heads up if something is not right…

But how would one know? Just pay attention to the below 8 signs about your health the eyes are trying to say:

#1 A stye

A stye is pretty common yet it can be irritating and painful. It occurs randomly, without any warning and disappears in a few days. But if it prolongs its stay for more than three months, you are in trouble! It could be a rare form of cancer namely the sebaceous gland carcinoma. This is true if the stye keeps on appearing at the same place on the same eye.

#2 Eyebrow hair loss

Hair loss is common and it happens for various reasons; lack of good food, bad water etc. However, if the outer part of your eyebrow hair starts to disappear; you may suffer from a serious health problem. It is an indication of thyroid disease.

#3 Blurry vision

All those with desk jobs who stare into their computer screens all day – beware! It is common that you will face blurry vision. You might be suffering from computer vision syndrome.

#4 Blind spots

Never ignore a blind spot. It may have serious consequences in the longer run. If you experience a blind spot such as shimmering lights or wavy lines, it could be due to migraine aura. It can be followed by a headache.

#5 Bulging eyes

Feel your eyes are swollen? It’s not a dirty trick of the mirror but the bulging feeling or sensation in your eyes could be a problem indicating thyroid issues. It could be due to hyperthyroidism.

#6 If your eyes turn yellow

If this happens then you surely have jaundice! It happens due to immature liver function in babies but is common in adults too. If an adult suffers from jaundice then it could be a gallbladder, bile duct or liver problem.

#7 Blurring vision in a diabetic person

If you are diabetic and suffer from blurred vision, it could be an indication of many eye problems, namely diabetic retinopathy. This affects the circulatory system of the eye and is today one of the leading causes of blindness.

#8 Dimming vision or double vision, vision loss

If you feel your vision is dimming or you are seeing things double or unable to see, visit a doctor ASAP. This could be an indication of a stroke.
