Joy News is reliably informed that DKT International Country Director Kevin Hudson has been recalled by the headquarters in Washington DC.

The development comes on the heels of a Joy News’ investigative piece of how family-planning giant DKT International used thousands of pieces of unregistered abortion drugs to terminate pregnancies in the country.

The drugs Misoprostol and Mifeprostol were part of a shipment of about 90,000 packets brought into the country with the assistance Nigerian and Swiss drug dealers.

A waybill dated July 19, 2016, reveals that the family planning clinic used 500 packets of Mifepristone and 2,000 pieces of Misoprostol.

Another document sighted by Joy News shows that on August 10, 2016, the clinic used 500 packets of packets of Misoprostol and another 500 packets of Misoprostol.

Sources tell Joy News there was a staff meeting at DKT International premises to brief them on the latest.

An internal circular intercepted on this meeting reads:

“This is to inform you following the recent media scandal. The country director has been directed to an emergency meeting at our head office in Washington DC.”

In his absence, he has directed General Manger in charge of Sales to take over in the management of the day-to-day affairs of the organization.

He is expected to respond to queries on the scandal.

The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) also indicated that DKT International is expected to pay the cost of destruction of the drugs.

Joy News sources within the police say they’re expecting the FDA to write and request for the drugs to enable them to go ahead to destroy the drugs with DKT International bearing the cost.
