Kwadwo Asamoah out for 6 weeks with knee injury

Ghana’s Kwadwo Asamoah will miss 6 weeks of action after tests revealed a knee injury suffered during Juventus’ 1-0 away win at Palermo in the Serie A on Saturday.

The player came off the bench in the 68th minute to replace Miralem Pjanic but after the match, tests showed that there was a problem with his knee.

Juventus’ website stated that Asamoah had “suffered a rupture of the medial meniscus ligament in his right knee.”

He is expected to have surgery in coming days which will rule him out of Juventus’ matches against AC Milan, Napoli, Lyon and Dinamo Zagreb.

He will also miss Ghana’s 2018 World Cup qualifier against Uganda in October.

The injury is a setback for the player who was beginning to get games for Juventus this season after missing a large part of the 2015 calendar year due to a knee injury.
