Kpessah Whyte declares support for NDC’s Shai-Osudoku parliamentary candidate

A former contender for the National Democratic Congress'(NDC) ticket for Shai-Osudoku Dr. Michael Kpessa Whyte has called on his supporters to campaign for the party’s parliamentary candidate.

Dr. Kpessah-Whyte lost the party’s primary to Mrs Linda Obenewa A. Ocloo on June 18, 2016.

Dr. Kpessa- Whyte, who is the acting Executive Director of the National Service Secheme (NSS), lost after polling 3,372 against Mrs Ocloo’s 5,156 votes.

She contested in the primary after her husband who was then the elected parliamentary candidate for the constituency died in a car crash in March 2016.

Dr. Kpessah-Whyte asked his supporters to put the primary behind them and unite to ensure that they maintained the seat for the party.

A reconciliation meeting was recently held between the two factions and the constituency executives.

To demonstrate his readiness to help Mrs Ocloo win the seat, he presented NDC branded t-shirts, campaign posters and other party paraphernalia and 25 bags of rice worth GHC 30,000.

He encouraged party members especially the campaign team to vigorously campaign for the candidate.

He also advised the candidate to demonstrate true reconciliation and willingness to win by welcoming supporters of other candidates into her campaign team.

Mrs Ocloo expressed joy and thanked Dr. Kpessah-Whyte for the move and promised to maintain the new found unity and peace in the party.
