Accra, Sept. 22, GNA – The Women’s League
Board (WLB) has put in place activities to ensure that the final of the Sanford
FA Cup becomes a success and a memorable one.
The Sanford FA Cup final, which will be played
on September 24, 2016, will see Police Ladies taking on Fabulous Ladies at the
Robert Mensah sports stadium, Cape Coast.
According to the WLB, the enthusiasm and the
patronage the competition had generated compelled them to play the final match
at a neutral venue to enable fans to watch the match free of charge.
The activities to precede the kick off will
start from Friday, September 23, 2016, with the trophy tour around Cape Coast
and its environs, starting from the Ankaful Hospital at 10:00 hours.
According to the WLB, there will be a
stop-over at CCMA, before arriving at the Cape Coast Stadium at 16:00 hours,
followed by a press conference with the Regional Minister in attendance.
There will be a Technical Meeting at 10:00
hours on Saturday September 24, 2016, which will be followed by a curtain
raiser between Super Angels and Hassport Ladies.
Koby Symple and Okotoperry will thrill fans to
some local tunes between the hours of 13:00 hours to 14:15 hours, to set the
atmosphere for the teams to warm-up for the game.
A cultural performance depicting war and
struggle with a chant conjuring a trophy from the sky, depicting the feat of
Okomfo Anokye, will herald the arrival of the trophy between 14:30 hours and
14:50 hours, with skaters displaying their skills at the background.
The teams will line up for the national anthem
by 14: 50 hours, as dignitaries inspect the teams.
The match will kick-off at 15:00 hours, with a
musical interlude at half time, with the closing ceremony taking place right
after the game, as well as a 30 minutes interview session with the media.
