South African legendary singer and songwriter, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, is expected to arrive in Accra today for the Vodafone African Legends Night, slated for September 24 at the State Banquet Hall.
The Princess of Africa, who has performed for the Queen of England Queen Elizabeth, former US President Bill Clinton, ex-South African President Thabo Mbeki, and many other world leaders will perform alongside other Ghanaian music stars, including Amandzeba Nat Brew, Akosua Agyapong, Wiyaala and Nana Tuffour.
Ahead of her trip, the South African super star tweeted: “I love Accra c u soon.”

The event has for the past six years celebrated musical icons which include South Africa’s legend and first headliner of the concert, Hugh Masekela, Femi Kuti, Freddy Meiway, Gyedu Blay Ambulley, Amakye Dede, Ghanaian ace Saxophonist Steve Bedi, Ben Brako, among others and a blend of artistes across Africa.
The Vodafone African Legends Night is supported by CDH Group, South African Airways, Awake Water, Accra City Hotel, Phoenix Insurance and Alomo Bitters.
