– Dr Albert Brown Gaisie, the Chief Fire Officer, has ordered the suspension of
the Techiman Municipal Fire Commander, DOIII Philip Ansah, with immediate
effect, pending further investigation into allegations of forcibly attempted
A Statement signed
by DOII Timothy Osafo-Affum, the Acting Public Relations of the Ghana National
Fire Service (GNFS), and issued to the Ghana News Agency, on Wednesday, said
DOIII Ansah’s suspension was in line with L.I. 1725, of the National Fire
Service Regulations, 2003 Part 1- Disciplinary Regulations.
The statement said
the suspension, therefore, was to pave the way for full scale investigations to
be conducted into the matter.
It said the Brong
Ahafo Regional Commander had been directed to effect the directives and
appropriate report on the matter and have it submitted to the Headquarters
latest by the close of the work, on Thursday, September, 22.
The statement assured
the public that the Command of the GNFS would not allow indiscipline and acts
of misconduct to damage the reputation of the Service.
It urged the public
to report criminal actions by personnel to the law enforcement agencies or the
National Command for urgent action.
