Ramallah, ACCRA, Sept. 16 – (dpa/GNA) –
Israeli security forces on Friday shot dead two alleged attackers in separate
incidents in Jerusalem and in the West Bank, according to Israeli police and
army statements.

Police shot a man dead, believed to be a 28-year-old
Jordanian citizen, brandishing a knife outside Damascus Gate of Jerusalem’s Old
City. No one else was hurt in the incident.

The Jordanian Foreign Ministry said it was
looking into the reports adding only that a citizen was shot dead in Jerusalem.
The man killed is believed to have entered the territory on Thursday.

Separately, Israeli forces opened fire at a
car that allegedly attempted to ram into Israelis at a bus stop near the Jewish
settlement Kiryat Arba in the southern West Bank. The shots killed one person
and injured a second, according to the military.

Three Israelis at the bus stop were injured
by the car, the army statement said.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed
the death of a man and the injury of a woman who were in the vehicle but did
not give their identity.

On Thursday night, Israeli soldiers also
shot and killed a Palestinian in the village of Beit Ulla in the south of the
West Bank, as the soldiers attempted an arrest.

Palestinian reports identified the man as 30-year-old
Muhammad Sarahin.

More than 230 Palestinians and 30 Israelis
have been killed since the outbreak of violence in the West Bank, East
Jerusalem and inside Israel almost a year ago.
