WA All Stars players pray after their victory
Wa All Stars made history by becoming the first club from the Northern sector to win the Ghana Premier League, as they defeated Aduana Stars 2-1 on Wednesday at the Malik Jabir Park in WA.
Paul De Vries Asare, Seidu Alhassan were on target for WA All Stars while Bright Adjei got the consolation for Aduana Stars.
Wa All Stars after the win go up to 51 points, with Aduana Stars trailing them by three points with a game remaining to end the season.
Elsewhere; Accra Hearts of Oak dropped valuable points after losing 0-1 to Medeama at the Accra Sports Stadium courtesy a Kwesi Donsu strike for the visitors.
Fredrick Boateng’s lone strike for Inter-Allies was enough to hand them a 1-0 win over Liberty Professionals at the Tema Park.
At the Obuasi Lane Clay Stadium, defending Champions Ashanti Gold came from behind to beat Kotoko 5-3.
Emmanuel Osei Baffour, Shafiu Mumuni Dauda Mohammed and Amos Addai were on target for Ashgold with Eric Donkor, Obed Owusu and Kwame Boateng getting the goals for Kotoko.
Ibrahim Abukari’s lone strike for WAFA gave them victory over Berekum Chelsea at the Sogokope Park and in Techiman, Fatawu Abdulman scored twice to help Techiman City defeat Sekondi Hasaacas at the Amayaw Ekumfi park.
Abednego Tetteh and Emmanuel Eli Keke scored for Bechem United and Dreams FC respectively as the game ended in a 1-1 stalemate at the Bechem Park.
Two goals from Bright Lukeman and a goal each by Nicholas Gyan, Stephen Bentil and Joseph Esso saw Ebusua Dwarfs routing over New Edubiase by 5-1 at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast.
Felix Afriyie got the consolation for Edubiase.
