Hon.Joseph Amenorwode addressing the gathering
The Volta region campaign taskforce of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has vowed to “punish” the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) come the December 7 elections.
The taskforce members said it will ensure that the NPP will continue to remain in opposition as they eye more votes for President John Mahama.
The regional campaign taskforce is divided into three zones – the Northern, Central and the Middle zones – which are carrying out the inauguration exercise across the region at the constituency level.
A section of the supporters at the event
According to the leader of the Southern Zone Taskforce, Joseph Amenorwode, the constituency campaign teams are tasked with the responsibility to campaign, coordinate and market President Mahama’s achievements in the last four years at the constituency level.
Amenorwode was speaking to Starrfmonline.com Thursday at the inauguration of the Central Tongu Taskforce at Adzidome.
According to the MP for Afadzato South Constituency, the party has developed adequate strategy to silence the NPP in this year’s elections.
He appealed to the rank and file of the party to take inspiration and be guided by the motto of the NDC – Unity, Stability and Development – by working together as a team to defeat the NPP at the December polls.
Amenorwode also admonished supporters to work with the party structure by supporting Mahama and all parliamentary candidates contesting on the ticket of the NDC across the country and desist from any attempt to contest as independent candidates, a move he noted undermines the party’s interest.
