Controversial general overseer of the International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim is to appear before a special court on Saturday, September 3 over allegations of illegal connection and an amount of GH¢217,000 owed to the Accra East branch of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
According to the loss control coordinator of the Accra East regional office, Jonathan Asante, Bishop Obinim owed a total of GH¢27,000 on his old post-paid metres. ECG therefore disconnected his residence, guest house and television station but he went on to illegally connect three post-paid meters.

At the moment, he is said to owe a total of GH¢217,000.
Obinim was recently granted bail after he was arrested over a GHS 11.7m gold fraud deal.
