Bawku (U/E) Aug. 31,
GNA – Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo, the Presidential candidate for the New
Patriotic Party (NPP), has assured Ghanaians that his government will revamp
all development initiatives that are currently lying dormant.

He said the National
Health Insurance Scheme and the National Youth Employment programme were human
development programmes rolled out by the NPP more than eight years ago but are
currently ineffective and not serving their purpose due to mismanagement.

This, he said, had
rather brought inconvenience and hardships to Ghanaians instead of creating an
enabling environment for development.

Nana Akufo-Addo said
this when he addressed members of the party at Garu in the Garu-Tempane
District as part of his tour of the Upper East Region.

Nana Akufo-Addo said
the NPP party was committed to developing more programmes such as reactivating
the rice and leather factories in the Upper East Region and help in providing
jobs for the youth.

He said the Party
would also focus on empowering the educational sector such as revamping the
vocational and technical institutions, health and agricultural colleges.

He assured the
chiefs and people of the Bawku Traditional Area that the NPP Government would
provide every community with a dam for irrigation farming in the dry season.

Nana Akufo-Addo said
he was a man of peace and would continue to support the Paramount Chief and his
people to enjoy the prevailing peace, since it was the only tool that could
create an enabling environment for coexistence.

The flag bearer
called on the Bawku Naba Asigri Abugragoe Azoka, Paramount Chief of the Bawku
Traditional Area and the people of Bawku to invest their confidence in him and
vote for the NPP.

He was accompanied
by his running mate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Mr Alan Kyeremanteng and other senior
party officials.
