Nduom TourDr. Papa Kwesi Nduom

The Presidential Candidate of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) has urged Ghanaians to be wary of persons they entrust the destiny of the country to.

Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom charged Ghanaians to vote for candidates based on their achievements and not people who enjoy heaping one promise after the other.

‘’You check those standing for election, check Nana Addo as flagbearer or John Dramani Mahama as president and ask yourselves what jobs these two people brought to Ghana, and then ask yourself what Papa Kwesi Nduom has been doing since the last election,” he said.

The PPP Standard Bearer disclosed this when he addressed chiefs and people of Tsito-Awudome in the Ho West Constituency in the Volta Region.

With 150 clear days to the general election, the various Presidential Candidates have stepped up their bid to get the mandate of Ghanaians.

The leaders of the two dominating political parties namely the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been campaigning across the country where they are promising to change the fortune of Ghanaians.

President John Mahama has urged Ghanaians to renew his mandate since the four-year term given him is inadequate for him to undertake development projects. The NPP flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has also promised to build one factory in every district in the country.

But Dr Nduom said Ghanaians should desist from empowering candidates who are interested in making promises.

He said he has an undisputable track record through his many businesses he has opened in the country which are employing thousands of unemployed Ghanaians. I practice what I preach and I do not make empty promises like others, he said.

Dr. Nduom questioned why both Nana Addo and President Mahama have to wait till election time to realise that Ghanaians need jobs, citing that as opportunistic and unfortunate.

On his part, Parliamentary Candidate on the ticket of the PPP in the constituency, Joshua Akutey, appealed to the people to put their confidence in the party and not the NDC and the NPP.

He told the people because the NDC repeatedly receives massive votes from residents of the region, party functionaries have taken the people for granted.

‘If we are going to see real progress and development we need to vote for Dr Nduom and myself,” he said, adding, “Progress will come with your thumbs and your thumbs on the right candidates for the right job.’’
