Former presidents JJ Rawlings and JA Kufuor are expected to grace Ghana’s first diplomatic comedy show, dubbed ‘Let Ghana Laugh’ which comes off on Friday, August 26,2016 at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
The show will be chaired by the Most Rev Prof Emmanuel Asante, Chairman for the National Peace Council and supported by the Speaker of Parliament Edward Doe Adjaho and the Chief Justice, Georgina Theodora Woode.
‘Let Ghana Laugh’ which is put together by CIBDev Consult Limited, under the auspices of the National Peace Council, will also bring together the leadership of all the registered political parties, especially presidential candidates contesting the December 2016 elections to promote national unity and the spirit of togetherness before, during and after the elections.
Mr. John Bosco Tieyiri, the National Coordinator and Chief Consultant on the project, said, “This event is Ghana’s first and Africa’s biggest diplomatic comedy show, which will bring all key stakeholders in this election together to laugh and build bridges and reduce political tension”.
‘Let Ghana Laugh’ seeks to bring to Ghana’s top comedians in Africa to meet Ghana’s frontline politicians and the diplomatic community, CEOs, civil society organisations and a cross-section of Ghanaians for a moment of laughter.
Artistes billed for the night are Klint Da Drunk from Nigeria and DKB from Ghana. The Armed Forces Band and the Winneba Youth Choir will also minister patriotic songs of Ghana.
‘Let Ghana Laugh’ comedy is being coordinated by National Security and State Protocol, with general law, order and safety provided by the Ghana Police Service.
