Beach Soccer selects final squad for Kenya clash

Accra, Aug. 22, GNA –
The coach of the National Beach Soccer team, Daniel Kotey Niiquaye has selected
his final squad for the 2016 AFCON qualifier first leg clash against Kenya on
August 27, at the Pirates Beach resort, Kenya.

The Black Sharks
will leave the shores of Ghana to Mombasa on Tuesday for the tricky duel
against the Kenyans on Saturday.

The coach named his
squad after five days of intensive training at the Laboma Beach Resort in La,
Accra.

The 12 man squad
comprising two goalkeepers, five defenders and five strikers are poised to book
a ticket to represent Ghana at the continental gathering.

Ghana’s contingent
would be made up of the head coach and his assistant, team doctor, the
physiotherapist, team manager, protocol officer, one beach soccer referee and
one journalist.          

Goalkeeper Frank
Mensah, who won the golden glove award in the maiden Beach Soccer Unity Cup
could not make the list alongside Matthew Lamptey, Daniel Mensah Frederick
Kwevi, Wisdom Adoka Eugene Dekpey and Ekow Badu.

The return leg would
be played in Accra on Sunday September 17.
