The Eight Nigerian Movies That Will Premiere At TIFF 2016


The Nollywood movie industry is one that is growing and we can attest to the quality of movies we’ve seen recently in cinemas.

And as expected, more people from all over the world are taking note of the quality of work being put into our movies. The Toronto International Film Festival is scheduled to hold in September and Lagos has been selected for the festival City to City program.

What this means is that movies from Nigerian filmmakers will premiere at the film festival.

Also, the duo of OC Ukeje and Somkhele Idhlama have been selected to be rising stars for the festival.

What this means is that these actors will join other rising stars for a series of specialised programming that includes media training, seminars with casting directors, one-on-one meetings with filmmakers, as well as a series of unique networking opportunities, all organised by TIFF’s Industry team.
