The 14th edition of the Ghana International Book Fair will be opened to the public from Friday 19th August to Sunday 21st August,2016 at the forecourt of the National Theatre.
The four-day event which attracts exhibitors from the US, Turkey, Nigeria among other countries, will commence with various workshops for industry players on Thursday August 18 and is under the theme: “Growing the Knowledge-based Economy through Reading.”
Second Lady Matilda Amissah-Arthur, who is an astute librarian, is expected to open the fair while the Minister of Education Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang will be the Special Guest of Honour.
President of the Ghana Book Publishers Association Elliot Agyare said the event will cater for educational materials ranging from stationery, textbooks, supplementary readers and “everything else you will need for school”.
He urged parents and teachers and all to take advantage of the fair.
