Kotoko supporters urged to contribute towards development

Accra, Aug. 14, GNA
– Mrs Lynda Odro, Chief Executive Officer of Hollard Insurance Ghana Limited,
has called on supporters of Kumasi Asante Kotoko to rally behind the club to
enable it retain its former glory.

This, she said could
make Kotoko one of the best clubs on the African Continent.

She said for the
club to achieve this feat, it would depend on the contributions of the
supporters, which would go a long way for its development.

Mrs Odro made the
call when the playing body, technical and the management of the club called on
the company in Accra at the weekend.

The visit was to
express the appreciation of the club to the management of the company for
signing a five-year renewable sponsorship agreement with the team and also to
introduce the players, the technical team and the management to the company.

The agreement,
initiated by Big Cash Ghana and Impillo Global Investment of South Africa,
would enable Kotoko to secure good training pitches, a sports academy, a sports
hall and a modern secretariat.

There would also be
an exchange programme for coaches, players and the technical team as well as
insurance covers for the players and the management and the recruitment of
quality players

The company had put
on to the Ghanaian market five more products, which would enable the supporters
of the club the opportunity to contribute financially to the club by buying the
policy which a  percentage would  be paid to Kotoko.

Mrs Odro said the
sponsorship of the team formed part of the company’s corporate social
responsibilities.

She said the company
delivers innovative insurance   solutions
that are customised to the unique risks faced everyday by specific segments of
the market.       

Mrs Odro said one of
the key business models of the company is to form a profitable partnership that
results in the win-win-win- and that is what the business entity has done.

She commended the
team for the impressive performance in the league so far and expressed the hope
that they would fight better than before and win the ultimate.

Mr Samuel Opoku Nti,
Chief Executive Officer of the club, who led the delegation, thanked the
company for the  sponsorship and  expressed the hope that that the sponsorship
would go a long way  for the  players to give of their best.

Mr Kwabena
Oseei-Bonsu, Executive Director of Big Cash Ghana, said sports development and
promotion is paramount the operations of the company and its partners.

rich history and for that matter as Africa’s Club of the century’’.

All the players
expressed their joy over the deal that had been signed and gave the assurance
that they would do everything possible to ensure the success of the club.
