Hearts of Oak board member Frank Nelson has dismissed rumours the club is involved in match fixing in their desperate attempt to escape relegation.

The Phobians have won their last two games to shoot up from the bottom of the First Capital Plus League table.

The Accra-based side have endured a woeful campaign for most parts of the season which sees the side deeply plunged in the relegation dogfight.

Rumours are even rife that the Phobians have been ‘buying matches’ in order to pick up wins against relatively safer clubs as they bid to escape the drop.

But board member Frank Nelson is adamant the club remains highly competitive in all aspects and will never resort to such an inelegality.

“This is something that Accra Hearts of Oak must distance itself from,” he said.

“We are all against such things and if anyone has evidence to substantiate this must come out for the law to take effect.

“Accra Hearts of Oak dissociates itself from such things.”
