Big Brother Africa (Hotshots) to launch next month after devastating fire – organisers

Organisers of the Big Brother Africa reality show, Endemol have announced that season nine of the reality show will launch next month after a devastating fire raised down the houses for the show.

The Big Brother Africa (Hotshot) Houses, in the Sasani Studios in Johannesburg, which were supposed to house contestants for the 91-day reality show, went up in flames Tuesday afternoon around 3pm (CAT).

This forced the organisers of the reality show to postponed indefinitely, the launch of this year’s event which was scheduled for Sunday, September 7.

Endemol said in a statement, copied Myjoyonline.com, Friday, that it took them 48 hours to find a suitable venue to host the show.

“Following the devastating fire on 2 September 2014 at the Big Brother house in Johannesburg, M-Net and Endemol SA have spent the last 48 hours searching both locally and internationally for a venue in which to produce Season 9 of the highly popular Big Brother Africa reality show.

“After exploring all possible options, the team are delighted to announce that the show will go on as a venue has been found to get the show on air within the next month,” the statement said.

According to the organizers, “a multitude of factors have had to be considered including the complex technical requirements, logistics, technical crews and satellite link facilities which have all formed part of the challenge.”

They, however, assured “all its Big Brother fans that their favourite reality show will launch soon and thanks fans from across the continent for their support during the last two days.”    Story by Ghana | Myjoyonline.com | Ernest Dela Aglanu (Twitter: @delaXdela / Instagram: citizendela)
