‘Kofi Sarpong Is One Of The Celebrated Gospel Artistes In Ghana’

Police officer and gospel musician, DSP Kofi Sarpong, has been highly eulogized for his musical prowess and ingenuity.

“Kofi Sarpong has consistently maintained his reputation as one of the most celebrated gospel musicians in Ghana and beyond,” noted the award winning chief executive of Media Excel Productions, Ernest Kwasi Ennin.

Mr. Ennin, who has played a very important role in the development of Ghanaian music and artiste management, has disclosed that he has undertaken a number of projects and events to help promote the local gospel music industry.

Kwasi Ernest, who has contributed significantly to the success of some Ghanaian gospel musicians such as Piesie Esther, Joyce Blessing, Becca, DSP Kofi Sarpong, among others, disclosed that his outfit is currently holding a series of meetings with certain investors who have shown interest in supporting the growth of the Ghanaian gospel music industry.

He told BEATWAVES in a chat that he wanted to bring a change to the gospel music business, to enable gospel musicians earn what is due them, and also get endorsement as corporate ambassadors and brands.

Based on his determination to move the gospel music industry to another level, Ernest has already negotiated with certain distributors in some African countries to market and distribute Ghanaian musical works in those countries.

He further disclosed that all the artistes on his label – Joyce Blessing, Kofi Sarpong, Rose Adjei, among others – were working tirelessly to meet the challenges ahead them.

According to him, his outfit was working on an impending gospel musical concert for Kofi Sarpong to celebrate his achievement in
the music industry as well as raise funds to support his foundation.

He added that the concert would also be used to launch Sarpong’s much-awaited third album.

Kofi’s dream had always been to promote Christ through music; and his concert is indeed in response to the demand from his numerous fans who have been witnessing his stage performances so many times.
