Events at the ongoing USAG National Delegates Congress have been suspended, pending detail interrogation into a writ of summons and served on the National Executive Officers.
The event which started smoothly from the 19th came to a standstill when attempts were being made by a faction supporting one of the presidential aspirants, name Derrick, made strenuous efforts at disqualifying is only contender, Brillant.
This scheming led to number of disputes and confrontations which threatened to mar the event. Brillant who was a former student leader of University of Education, Winneba Campus, found himself in the thick of affairs when his opponent and supporters tried using an adverse finding against his SRC President, one Wilson, under whom he served, to also discredit him and to get the Vetting and/or Judicial Committee to disqualify him on those unfounded grounds.
However the court injunction duly served on the current national executive officers, puts all these scheming to an abrupt end, and we gather the National President, who’s under a lot of stress has suspended the Congress until further notice.
Interesting events seen at the Congress was also the sighting of Sammy Awuku, seen on several days lurking on the fringes of the Congress having meetings with some of the participants believed to be supporters of Derrick, the Presidential aspirant.
Meanwhile a Judicial Committee improper formed has been quashed and all its rulings is deemed to be of no effect.
