Glo Releases $1.9m To GFA

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has received $1.9 million from Globacom Ghana, representing part of the outstanding debt owed it in unpaid sponsorship fees for the Premier League.

The amount covers sponsorship for the 16 clubs for the 2012-13 Glo Premier League season.

Following the release of the amount, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, champions for that season, will now receive their prize money.

The Executive Committee of the FA took the decision on the disbursing formula at its meeting in Accra last Wednesday.
