Local fabrics give denim a ride

Since the campaign to promote made-in-Ghana products, many initiatives have been born that confidently profile local Ghanaian fabric designs against well-established ones  from elsewhere.

The latest of such moves has come from Tex Styles Ghana who have launched an interesting combination of local fabric designs and denim fabric which is familiar as jeans.

At a media briefing to introduce the 2014 Collection of the new Woodin designs dubbed ‘Jeans de Woodin’, the Marketing Manager, Ms Georgina Mensah, encouraged Ghanaians to appreciate local fabric and its many developing variations.

According to Ms Mensah, the new products have been presented in eight bold designs and exciting colours.

She said the manufacturers Tex Styles Ghana, were inspired by Denim Jeans  to create the most fashionable jeans, redesigned as an exclusive adaptation of western illustration with a rich African taste.

The Marketing Manager said the new design is trendy and fashionable for smart men and women who dare to be different.

Majority of the patrons at the event commended the company for the timely introduction of the new designs.

Ms Mensah said, ‘With Jeans de Woodin, we celebrate a new movement in African fashion. A movement that breaks rules, lives on the edge and makes bold choices.

Woodin is the  first Pan-African print brand by and for Africa, and have worked since 1985 to connect global trends to modern African life, transforming ethnic symbols into modern African designs.
