Robbers Kill Gang Members


The killed robbers
Two robbers suspected to be among the gang who allegedly killed Prophetess Agnes Koomsom, head of Grace Saviour Ministry at Sowutoum, a suburb of Accra, and Hayford Akrofi, the Vice Chairman of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), United Kingdom Chapter, have been killed by a fellow member of the gang.

The two, Randy Teye Narh, aka Kaska, and Albert Boadi, were said to have been mistakenly killed in separate robbery operations by the gang.

Briefing journalists on the latest development since the arrest of the six suspects – Yaw Dodzi, aka Awudu, 29 years old;   Yusif Seidu, aka Issiew, 23; Solomon Lamptey, aka Raja, 25; Sumaila Ayittey 18; Richard Avor, 26 and Nii Lamptey Daniel, 20 – the Accra Regional Police Commander, DCOP Christian Tetteh Yohuno said all the suspects had been identified by their victims at an identification parade.

He said the six were put before the Adjabeng Magistrate Court and subsequently remanded to reappear on August 20, while their dockets had also been forwarded to the Attorney General’s office for advice.

DCOP Tetteh Yohuno stated that aside the robbery and killing of the prophetess and the CPP man, the young men had also confessed robbing and killing in a series of robbery operations.

He said on May, 20, 2014, they embarked on a robbery operation at the Star Oil Filling Station at Juapong in the Eastern Region, adding that after successfully taking GH¢4,750 from the safe, the villagers chased them but while fleeing the scene they fired into the pursuing crowd, injuring six persons.

The Accra Regional Police Commander said upon a successful search by the police, and with the help of the villagers, one Joseph Adjetey Sowah, in an attempt to board a vehicle to Accra, was apprehended and indicated that during interrogation, he (Adjetey Sowah) mentioned Richard Avor and Yaw Dodzi, aka Awudu, as his accomplices.

Albert Boadi Dies
Explaining the circumstance surrounding the death of Albert Boadi, he said on May 8 while trying to rob a provision shop opposite Jucad Pharmacy at Kasoa in the Central Region, one of their members, Albert Boadi, was mistakenly shot and killed by a fellow gang member.

DCOP Tetteh Yohuno further added, ‘Last week, I informed of the killing of their own colleague in- crime, Randy Teye Narh, aka Kaska.’
